Rockland County, NY (May 9, 2019) – When the 2019 season arrives at Palisades Credit Union Park, a mix of new and old promotions promise to add to the Million Rea$on$ Why It’s an All-Star Summer.
Fireworks will be back to light the sky after every Saturday home game, with special editions on Opening Night (May 16th); Sunday, June 30th, Independence Week (July 3rd and 4th), the All-Star Game (July 10th), and Fan Appreciation Weekend (August 30th).
Our newest addition to the team – Pepper Jack, the Bat Dog – will be on hand for over 20 dates, and returning popular promotions include Star Wars Night (July 20th), Pink in the Park Night (August 10th), and Irish Heritage Night (August 17th), in addition to our Daily Specials.
Manager Kevin Baez and the new-look Boulders take the field for the annual NYPD exhibition game on Saturday, May 11th, at 6:30pm, with postgame fireworks to follow. Proceeds from the game benefit FANS4theCURE, a charity organization dedicated to promoting the early detection and treatment of prostate cancer and supporting prostate cancer research.
Opening night features a showdown between with the defending Can-Am League champion Sussex County Miners on Thursday, May 16th. In addition, nine home dates will be part of the Active International Charity Challenge, highlighting that Rockland’s Team will reach its one millionth dollar in charitable donations through the Boulders Community Fund this season.
And, of course, the Can-Am vs. Frontier League All-Star festivities come to Palisades Credit Union Park with the Home Run Derby on Tuesday, July 9th, and the All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 10th. (Rockland County, NY) – The Rockland Boulders announced today that legendary New York Yankees broadcaster John Sterling will be the featured guest speaker for the All-Star Game Luncheon on Tuesday, July 9, at the New York Country Club in Spring Valley. The event will run from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm to kick off the All-Star Celebration, with the Home Run Derby to follow later that night. The following evening, July 10, the Boulders will serve as hosts for the first-ever All-Star Game between the Can-Am and Frontier Leagues at Palisades Credit Union Park.
Sterling, a member of the New York Sportscasters’ Hall of Fame, is best known for his three decades as the radio voice of the Yankees. He has also won two Emmy Awards for his work as host of YES Network’s Yankeeography series. His ties to New York sports date back to the early 1970s, when he served as play-by-play announcer for both the Nets and the Islanders.
Stars from both leagues will also be in attendance as the luncheon marks the official start of the All-Star festivities. The Home Run Derby, featuring players from both leagues, will take place at 7:30 pm Tuesday. That leads up to Wednesday’s showcase, with some of the best minor league talent in the country taking the field for this historic match-up.
Admission for the luncheon is $60 per ticket ($50 for Season Ticket Members) and a table of 10 is $500, with proceeds going to the non-profit Boulders Community Fund.
