The Rockland Boulders return to Palisades Credit Union Park on Friday, June 14th, for a six-game homestand that features visits from the New Jersey Jackals and Shikoku Island League (Japan) All Stars.
Friday’s series opener against the Jackals comes on Military Appreciation Night, with all Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard veterans -- active, retired, and reserved -- receiving free admission to the 7:00 pm game, plus up to three additional tickets at half-price.
Prior to first pitch, the Boulders will be dedicating a POW-MIA Chair of Honor which bears a plaque, donated by the Rockland County Veterans Coordinating Council, that reads “You are not forgotten. This unoccupied Chair of Honor is for those who are still Prisoners of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA) and symbolizes there will always be a place in this stadium awaiting their return. Dedicated 14 June 2019”
Please also note: NY State Senator David Carlucci will be at the game to administer the Oath of Enlistment to more than 35 U.S. Army recruits from across the Hudson Valley. Carlucci, Chairman of the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Committee helped champion almost $4 million for the Joseph P. Dwyer Program this year, which offers peer-to-peer counseling to veterans who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or Traumatic Brain Injury.
Carlucci's New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame inductee and Vietnam veteran Jeremy Honey was selected to throw out the first pitch.
The first 1,000 fans in attendance will each receive a miniature American flag, and all fans are asked to bring non-perishable food and supplies that will be collected and sent to U.S. troops overseas. Also, in honor of Flag Day, ticket holders can drop off worn flags in two bins near the stadium's entrance. Senator Carlucci arranged for the flags to be retired in a special ceremony by American Legion Post 1682 in New City.
Tickets for Military Appreciation Night and all other home games are available at the Palisades Credit Union Park box office, online at RocklandBoulders.com, or by calling (845) 364-0009.
