Inside the Rockland Boulders: Day 2 of 10
Follow the Boulders as they prepare for Opening Night on June 16th
RAMAPO, New York – The Rockland Boulders inch closer to their historic night on June 16th, as the club is getting ready to open Provident Bank Park to the public and Can-Am League.
Tuesday was day two of their 10-day countdown to opening night. The front office was as busy as ever. The phones rang so much that everyone from the sales agents, ticket manager, communications coordinator, and interns were answering them at some point. Yesterday we mentioned that the Boulders’ opening night was the hottest ticket in town. Today more than backed up that statement.
There was a lot of action at Provident Bank Park today. Some photographers from The Journal News and LoHud.com came to take some photos around the ballpark. Team President Ken Lehner, sporting a royal blue Boulders cap, gave a videotaped tour to one of LoHud’s representatives. The Boulders and their stadium are becoming a pretty big deal in these parts of the county.
Today was also the first time the players have been in the park since their long road trip that began in May. They got to see the clubhouse, and had their first real practice on the field.
Dustin Smith and Eric Flynn were the first players to arrive for practice. Flynn pulled his phone out and took videos and pictures from the field. He appeared to be awed by how amazing the ballpark came out. Imagine what the fans will think.
Manager Dave LaPoint was working with the field crew at the stadium all day helping them get the field and equipment ready for practices.
Seth Cantor and Dave Goldstein, who handle corporate sales, were both at the stadium showing people around and checking out how the stadium was coming along. Executive Vice President/General Manager Shawn Reilly was also busy at work with clients and other team officials at the park.
Check back again tomorrow for the next update of the Boulders’ office diary as the team counts down to their historic opening night at Provident Bank Park.
