Rockland Boulders Internships

Game Operations Intern:  

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours per week, Weekend Events

JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS: maintenance

Responsible for set-up and teardown of all promotions, in-game activities, distribution of promotional items and general information while interacting with fans at all Rockland Boulders home games.

Work off-site at promotional marketing events on weekends and weekdays (i.e. trade shows, community events and street fairs etc.) in an effort to promote the Rockland Boulders.

Entertain fans during all promotions and in-game activities as part of the Rockland Boulders party patrol. 

Generate new and creative ideas to attract/promote Rockland Boulders events.

Participate and network within the community and industry.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Working towards a college degree in marketing, community affairs, event planning/services, sports management, communications, theatre or related field.

Must have outgoing personality and be comfortable entertaining large groups of people.

Must work effectively under pressure and thrive in a high-energy, dynamic environment.

Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Team-oriented.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds, as well as stand for a prolonged period of time.

Must have excellent people skills and poses a happy demeanor. 

 

 

Community Relations Intern:

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours per week, Weekend events

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fulfill donation requests for community/charity events.

Plan special community events, fundraisers, and in-school programs.

Assist with administrative tasks (faxing, copying, mailing, filing).

Manage game day events pertaining to charities or community members.

Responsible for set-up and teardown of promotions, in-game activities, distribution of promotional items and general Boulders information while interacting with fans at all Rockland Boulders home games.

Generate new and creative ideas to enhance the Rockland Boulders presence in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Working towards a college degree in marketing, community affairs, event planning/services, sports management, communications, journalism or related field.

Previous community service background preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Must work effectively under pressure.

Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Team-oriented.

Must be able to work select weekend events.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

 

Media/Public Relations  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provide quality service to members of the media and community.

Assist in obtaining media interviews with player and coaches.

Interact with radio and television broadcasters.

Distribute media credentials.

Act as a liaison between the Rockland Boulders front office and media/community members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Working towards a college degree in marketing, community affairs, event planning/services, sports management, sports information, communications or related field.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Must work effectively under pressure.

Graphic Design Intern 

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours per week, Weekend events  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and maintain a broad range of media including advertising, collateral, signage, direct mail, etc.

Generate new and creative ideas to attract/promote the Rockland Boulders target market.

Work with other departments on all promotional materials.

Responsible for set-up and teardown of promotions, in-game activities, distribution promotional items and general Boulders information while interacting with fans at all Rockland Boulders home games.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Working towards a college degree in graphic design or related field.

Knowledge and capability to use a wide variety of graphics programs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Work effectively under pressure.

Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Team-oriented.

Must be able to work select weekend events.

 

Video Production Intern 

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours per week, Weekend events  

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Produce video clips for Rockland Boulders TV.

Shoot interviews and game highlights for Rockland Boulders TV.

Setup and breakdown of all equipment.

Work with Boulders broadcasters and other team members.

Create animation for high-definition video board.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Working towards a college degree in video production or related field.

Proficiency in Final Cut, Avid, or Adobe.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Ability to follow directions and meet all deadlines established.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Must work effectively under pressure.

Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Team-oriented.

Must be able to work select weekend events. 

Website Intern 

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours, Weekend events  

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Enhance and maintain Rockland Boulders website.

Design and create new web components to effectively deliver the Boulders message.

Design best-in-class online Boulders experience.

Formulate new ideas and functionality of website.

Maintain active presence on social media websites.

 

Qualifications:

Working towards a college degree in computer applications or related field.

Demonstrate proficiency using a variety of web-graphics tools and applications to build/enhance site including, but not limited to HTML, Flash, Java, Photoshop and SharePoint.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Work effectively under pressure.

Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Team-oriented.

Must be able to work all home games and select weekend events.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

 

 

Sales Intern 

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours, Weekend events  

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Assist in the assembly of sales presentation materials, copying sales, marketing materials and distributing ticket information to clients.

Attend outside Boulders events to gain new clients.

Organize group outings.

Assist with general incoming sales calls for ticket sales.

Compile lists and input of future clients.

Prospect and follow-up new leads gained through community events, in-game promotions or other data collection means. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Working towards a college degree in sports management, business, management or related field.  

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Must work effectively under pressure.

Ticket Operations Intern 

HOURS REQUIRED: 30 - 40 hours, Weekend events

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interns will be responsible for assisting the box office in day-to-day operations.

Sell tickets to walk-up customers at the Provident Bank Park Box Office.

Fulfill all internal and external ticket orders.

Learn and manage ticketing system.

Prepare the box office for game day and event sales.

Supervise game day sellers.

Set up and breakdown will call.

Provide a high level of customer service at Rockland Boulders home games.

Assist in ticketing and financial reports.

Duties to be assigned with other departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Working towards a college degree in sports management, business, management or related field.  

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Must be organized and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
