Our instructors include current and former Rockland Boulders players and coaches, as well as guest instructors from all levels of professional and collegiate baseball. The current manager of the Boulders, Jamie Keefe, plays a pivotal role in directing the teaching philosophy of the Boulders Baseball Academy.

Jamie Keefe, Manager, Rockland Boulders

A native of Rochester, NH, Jamie Keefe played nine years of professional baseball after being drafted right out of high school, in the third round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Primarily an infielder, Keefe made it all the way to AAA in 1997 before finishing his career in independent baseball with the Chillicothe Paints, Chillicothe, OH of the Frontier League in 2000.

After retiring as a player, Keefe was hired as the Chillicothe Paints field manager in 2001, and he hasn't looked back since. For over a decade he led teams in the Frontier and Can Am Leagues, compiling well over 400 wins in his career on the field. 

In his long tenure with the Rockland Boulders, Keefe has won multiple Can-Am Championships and Manager of the Year awards, and has also become a leading figure in the local community.

Justin Ottman - Founder of Max Velocity Pitching at Breathe Baseball (Haverstraw, NY)

A former Seattle Mariners draft pick and pro player, including some time with the Boulders, Justin is now a Bio- Mechanics baseball specialist and founder of Max Velocity Pitching in Haverstraw, NY.  Justin's throwing program is designed at improving arm strength, velocity, and injury avoidance through solid scientific drills and principles. Justin will be leading our throwing programs at this year's summer camps.

Chris Carminucci, Pro Scout, Arizona Diamondbacks

Chris Carminucci currently serves as a Professional Scout and Independent League Coordinator with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Chris notably discovered and signed David Peralta out of the Independent Leagues, who went on to play a pivotal starting role for the Diamondbacks in 2014.

Dan McNamara, Western Connecticut State University

Dan McNamara is a former catcher of the Washington Nationals organization and C/1B for the Newark Bears. Dan has dedicated his professional life to baseball and has extensive experience in player development on both the professional and amateur levels. A graduate and four-year starter at Division II Mercy College, Dan currently serves as an Assistant Coach of Western Connecticut State University. Dan previously spent time as the bullpen catcher and coach for the Brockton Rox and Bridgeport Bluefish, both Independent professional teams.
